The first item on the list is the Crakow. This long-toed shoe is believed to of originated in Krakow the capital of Poland in the 12th<\/sup> century, although, it would only be in vogue in the 15th<\/sup> century when other European countries adopted the trend. The Crakow was made of leather or cork, and the points were stuffed with either moss or horse hair to maintain its shape. Fortunately, this trend died out relatively quickly as it faced a lot of criticism, including being impractical as one could not kneel to pray whilst sporting the look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Number 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Do you remember the rhyme \u201cyankie doodle went to town riding on a pony, stuck a feather in his cap and called it Macaroni\u201d. Well did you know that Macaroni was actually a fashion trend in the 1760s among Aristocratic British men that wanted to exceed the ordinary bounds of fashion. Macaroni refers to a small hat or feather placed on top an exceedingly large wig. Overtime Macaroni fashion became a symbol of inappropriate bourgeoise excess and homosexuality, which probably led to its decline in popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Number 3<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The next item on the list is the crinoline invented in April 1856. A crinoline is a structured petticoat designed to hold out a woman\u2019s skirt and was made from woven fabric and steel. It was extremely popular among European women as it allowed them to achieve massive volume with far less layers. However, crinolines were composed of flammable materials, so the dress quickly became a fire hazard. Additionally, crinolines got stuck in carriage wheels and machines which was just as dangerous. Overtime, the crinoline evolved into the bustle and eventually phased out because silhouettes changed, however, crinolines are occasionally used in modern day fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Number 4<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking of modern-day fashion, the fourth item on the list is asymmetrical jeans. If you cannot decide whether you want to wear mom or skinny jeans, why not wear both with asymmetrical jeans. These quirky trousers were created by Ksenia Schnaider when she accidently sewed the wrong jean legs together, little did she know this style would become trendy and worn by icons such as Celine Deon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Number 5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n However, do you know what makes more of a statement than asymmetrical jeans, high heeled crocs. High heeled crocs are currently being sold by high end fashion brands like Balenciaga for the measly price of R10\u00a0000.
