- The radius of the sun is 696 340 km long.
- About one million Earths could fit inside the Earth.
- The Sun is estimated to be 4,500,000,001 (in 2021) years old.
- The Sun is also known as a Yellow Dwarf Star or G2V star.
- The Sun is almost a perfect sphere.
- It takes 8 minutes for the Suns rays to reach the Earth.
- The temperatures inside the Earth can reach 15 million degrees Celsius.
- The surface of the Sun is 5,505 degrees Celsius.
- The Sun rotates in the opposite direction compared to Earth.
- It is mostly made up of Hydrogen and Helium.
- Sun is middle aged (half way through its estimated lifespan).
- The sun consists of 6 layers: core, radiative zone, photosphere, chromosphere and corona.
- The sun has an extensive magnetic field.
- It is 400,000 brighter than the full moon.
- Until the 16th century that the sun orbits the Earth.
