Anime Review: Your Lie in April

~Sad~Romance~

I haven’t read the manga so my opinions are purely based on the anime series. I am in no way trying to be mean to any one who worked on the show, these are all my opinions.

Your Lie in April is an anime based on the Manga with the same name made by Naoshi Arakawa.

What is it about? A piano prodigy is unable to play music after his mother dies, until he meets a violin player. The series follows their relationship and how they leave big impacts on each other’s lives.

This series is beautifully animated, every scene was so visually pleasing. The story was truly touching and definitely left an impact. I thought the characters were well written and you can really feel their emotions and their pain.

I really would recommend giving this anime a watch, however something that I feel like lowered my experience was the slow pace. This show repeats the fact that Kousei cannot play the piano throughout the entire series to cement something we already knew from episode one, I am not saying this is a terrible thing however a lot of the series was spent repeating the same scenes over and over again and personally I would of like to focus more on other characters such as Kaori. I understand that in real life problems aren’t solved in a matter of days as much as shows make it seem so I do appreciate that they show the struggle however from an audience stand view It got a little repetitive. But I still enjoyed the show for what it was and that ending was beautifully done.

This is all my opinion I would love to hear your opinions on the show or manga. (Please put a spoiler warning if your comment does have a spoiler or discusses plot in more detail.)
