Everything Wrong with the Sims 4

Now I love the Sims 4, I play it almost everyday for hours at a time and if I didn’t like the Sims 4 why would I invest so much time into it? But it is because I invest so much time playing it that I start to notice the problems it has specially if you compare it to Sims 3 the game before it that is not perfect in any way however it adds important game play elements that is crucial to any simulation game, that I feel like the Sims 4 doesn’t have. Here are some of my personal issues with the Sims 4, I want to specify I love the Sims and I am in no way sending hate to any of the creators that make the game and my problems may differ from yours depending on the style game play we have, so please feel to comment any of your problems in the comments.

1.) Any other life stage that isn’t young adult is boring– for example babies are objects your sims can do more with literal plants then babies, also children and teens don’t have anything to do for example wouldn’t be cool if something happened in their school lives.

2.) Packs, they have been lacking in content and for the price tag is it worth it?Not only is game play lacking but the main selling point for example restaurants in Dine Out are glitchy and dont always work which is ridiculous we are paying money for these packs they should work and not break our games.

3.) Reliance on Modders, if you have been keeping up with the news in the sims community there is a massive discussion on skin tones or the lack of them now they are working on it however we are 6 years into the sims 4 and modders have been able to produce skin tones. But in general why do I need to have mods to have more interesting game play or to fix problems in the game.

4.) Lack of an open world, I don’t see this being improved in the Sims 4 maybe in the Sims 5 however I don’t understand why I have to sit through a loading screen to visit my neighbor who is right there. I feel like it strongly discourages players to go out and explore the game now I understand that they did this so that the game can run on anyones computer but it just really sucks. I think a good in between is not having a loading screen in a neighborhood so you can visit the surrounding lots without a loading screen.

5.) Sims lack of personality, we have a sever lack of aspirations in the Sims 4 which has 45 (at the moment) compared to the 87 in the Sims 3 which had the lifespan of 4 years. as wells as just a lack of traits and the traits don’t impact your game or your sims life.

Now regardless I still love the Sims franchise, and I will continue to play the game and I do believe that the Sims team does have the potential to improve the game!
