Study Tips

Please note that we are not professionals by any means and we will be talking out of our experiences and preferences. Also our study tips may not work for you and that is okay, please feel free to mention any of your own studying tips in the comments.

Using binders or files, I love to use binders when studying as I can have all my subjects notes in one place. What I do is i take a large binder and make subject dividers for all my subjects. Then just add my note/summaries and everything stays organized in one place.

Having a clean environment, maybe this is just me but when I am in a clean environment or when I feel clean myself I feel more organized and I feel at peace cause I don’t feel overwhelmed because of a chaotic environment.

Staying organized, this may be a personal thing but I feel overwhelmed when I feel unorganized and don’t have a plan, so often what I do is make a schedule, where you have time slots to do certain things. You have to be realistic with yourself like it is unlikely for you to finish an entire unit in 15 minutes. This can help you stay on time and can give you a buzz when you can cross it out.

So more about the actual act of studying I make summaries that has all the important information, my suggestion is make your notes colorful and have pictures make it easier for you to learn. I also love to use Que cards, Que cards have questions for example: Definition of Photosynthesis and at the back the definition. Writing your Que cards means you are rewriting information which helps with memorization and then you get to quiz yourself and help separate the information you do know with that you don’t know so you know what to focus on. Mind maps aren’t for everyone however I like to make them as a summary of a chapter, you can even make it another memory game where you can write all the information that you remember in one color and all the information you couldn’t remember in a different color. This helps once again separate information based on what you remember and can help you focus on the things you don’t remember as well.

I hope we were able to help you, and we hope your studying goes well. Don’t forget to add any of your own study tips in the comments! 🙂 And sorry for the over usage of the word: OrGaNiZed.
