Best Chocolate Cake Recipe

Nothing is more delicious than a good ol chocolate cake. Well, this chocolate cake is the best and I bake it all the time.
Cake Ingredients:
- 2 cups: all-purpose flour
- 2 cups: sugar
- 3/4 cup: unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp: baking powder
- 1.5 tsp: baking soda
- 1 tsp: salt
- 1 cup: milk 1/2 cup: vegetable/coconut/canola oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp: vanilla extract
- 1 cup: boiling water
Chocolate Buttercream Icing Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups: softened butter
- 1 cup: unsweetened cocoa powder
- 5 cups: icing sugar
- 1/2 cup: milk
- 2 tsp: vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
- Line your cake pan(s) with baking paper or spray with baking spray.
- Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the milk, eggs, oil and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix together until well combined.
- Carefully add the boiling water to the mixture and mix until well combined.
- Distribute the batter into the cake pan(s) and bake for 30-35 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clear.
- To make the icing, cream the butter and the cocoa powder together until well combined.
- Add vanilla extract, sugar and milk to mixture. For every cup of sugar add a tbsp of milk. After each addition turn mixture on high speed and repeat until milk and sugar is finished .
- Remove the cake from the oven and allow to cool off.
- Frost the cake and enjoy!
Additional Notes:
- Do not overfill your pans (should be about 1/2-2/3 fill) to prevent cake from collapsing.
- The more batter you add to a pan will increase the baking time, so I recommend dividing the batter into multiple pans.
- If the icing is too dry add a small amount of milk. If it is too wet add small amounts of icing sugar.
